Worship Assistants

“Are you called to help others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies, so that God will be glorified through Jesus Christ– to Him be glory and power forever and ever.” 1 Peter 4:11

“God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings.” 1 Peter 4:10

Lay Ministers
Lay Ministry is a standing committee of the Board of Ministry and Outreach. Lay Ministers carry out two important responsibilities. Each is assigned 15 to 20 members/family units of the congregation. The Lay Minister makes regular contacts with those in his or her “Care Group”, assisting them with their physical and spiritual needs, keeping them aware of worship service offerings and other events of the congregation and praying for them. Lay Ministers help the Pastor with worship services, readying the Sanctuary and facilities for worship, then leaving the church clean and locked when worship is completed. They also assist in the distribution during Holy Communion.
Presently there are eight Lay Ministers. Anyone interested in this service should talk with the chairman of the Board of Ministry and Outreach or visit with the Pastor.

Altar Guild
Altar guild members work in teams of two and serve two months each year. They prepare for the three worship services each Sunday as well as special services during Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter. Their duties include changing paraments for liturgical seasons and events, preparing communion, hanging appropriate banners and arranging flowers. Members water plants and set up for Sunday’s coffee hour. Duties also include cleaning and polishing communion ware and laundering linens. Any men or women who are interested in serving in these “behind the scenes” yet reverent duties may contact the church office. Your service would be most welcome and appreciated.

Coffee Hour
“Coffee Hour” at Trinity is an opportunity after our 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM services for fellowship and to meet and greet visitors. This social time provides an opportunity for members and visitors to maintain close relationships. Food and beverage refreshments are provided by members or groups who volunteer to host. Sign up is on the coffee hour list in the fellowship hall. The Fellowship Committee provides other needed supplies.  Refreshments are also provided after the 5:00 PM Latino service.
