Bible Study Opportunities at Trinity
Check out the many opportunities to gather around the Word with friends in Christ. All members and guests are invited to participate in our regularly scheduled Bible Study groups. Contact the church office for information.
An Adult Bible Study class is held every Sunday at 9:45 AM in the school library. These sessions are led by a Pastor or lay leader and topics vary throughout the year.
Sunday School is for children in grades PreK through 12. The students meet in the lunchroom at 9:45 AM for singing, birthday recognitions, offerings and announcements. Following the opening, classes are held in school classrooms, each led by a member of our wonderful Sunday School teachers’ team! The Sunday School classes dismiss at 10:45 AM from the gym
Middle and high school students, our Youth Group, meet throughout the year with their leaders for a variety of activities. Devotions and Bible studies are embedded in the schedule. Check with the church office for dates. Students in this age category are welcome to attend the Sunday morning class that is part of the congregation’s Sunday School program.
Parents provide the primary influence and instruction in the faith life of their children. Our goals in youth ministry are to equip and encourage parents for this task in the lives of their teen and to provide opportunities for our youth to grow in their faith and empower them to share the message of salvation.
Each year we attend student conferences that come to our area. Every three years we attend the National Youth Gathering of the LCMS. These gatherings, held out of state, are five-day opportunities to gather with 20,000 to 30,000 other high school students in celebration, learning, and service within their mutual Christian faith.
At Trinity Lutheran Church and School, confirmation classes are taught by Pastor Shimkus to the 7th/8th grade class as part of their religion curriculum. In the two year program, using Luther’s Small Catechism, students further learn about their relationship to God, what is prayer, the meaning of the sacraments and the Ten Commandments. Annually, the congregation celebrates the rite of Confirmation with those students who desire this personal affirmation of their faith and membership in the LCMS.
Middle or high school students who do not attend Trinity Lutheran School and wish to participate in a confirmation class are invited to call the church office and make arrangements with Pastor Shimkus.
New Member Class
Classes for those people who are interested in membership at Trinity Lutheran Church and the LCMS as well as those who wish to refresh their understanding of Lutheran theology are scheduled throughout the year. Call the church office for dates.
