Members and Friends of Trinity:
It felt good to be in worship together last Sunday. We comforted one another, supported one another, and fed on Word and Sacrament for strength and assurance.
But as we decided that we would like to continue to hold services as long as it was safe and healthy, the governor of Oregon has determined that, in order to mitigate the threat of the coronavirus, there can be no gatherings of 25 people or more for the next four weeks.
Effectively, it means that there will be no services at Trinity Lutheran Church beginning now and through Easter Sunday, April 12.
We are devastated at not being able to observe the services of Palm Sunday and Holy Week and the great Easter celebration itself. We will miss feasting on the Good News of Christ’s resurrection and the joy of greeting and sharing life with one another.
But the leaders of Trinity will find a way to gather thoughts and ideas for how we can communicate and care for one another, and will seek ways to supply spiritual nurture in place of the suspended worship services.
We will certainly attempt to be diligent in communication. If anyone is in need, please communicate with us, through the office or your Lay Minister. Let us know how you are doing.
Remember your congregation in prayer; remember Trinity Lutheran School, apparently not in session again until April 29; and the Trinity Early Learning Center as they have suspended activity also. There is much on our hearts and minds these days.
May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way.
The Lord be with you all. (2 Thess. 3:16)
